SHOES GLORIOUS SHOES IN SOMERSAL HERBERT!

Thursday, 27th May in the Parish Rooms (DE6 5PD) at 7.30pm.

Somersal Herbert Parish Rooms is to host a glorious night of shoes on Thursday, 27th May with Jan Meares-Davies from the successful business Shoes Glorious Shoes.

Jan will be bringing a wide range of ladies shoes, boots, and handbags for visitors to view and try on in a relaxed setting and will happily take orders for other sizes if required. Her range offers something a little different at prices less than you'd expect.

The event starts at 7.30pm, admission is free and home-baked light refreshments will be available. All proceeds are in aid of the Parish Rooms.

And remember...you can never have enough good friends or pairs of shoes!


SOMERSAL HERBERT ANNUAL VILLAGE FETE

Saturday 3rd July, 14:00-17:00 in the grounds of Somersal Hall

A traditional village fete that has been held for many years to raise funds for St Peter's Church and the Parish Rooms.

Somersal Hall, Somersal Herbert, DerbyshireSomersal Hall, the historic Grade 1 listed former home of the Fitzherbert family is this years’ venue for the 2010 Somersal Herbert fete. The event is taking place on Saturday 3rd July between 2 and 5pm, when the beautiful gardens will be filled with many stalls and attractions of interest to both children and adults alike. Returning again this year, by popular request, will be Jack with his teddies (do bring your teddies for the ride of his life!). Numerous side shows including a traditional coconut shy, an old style skittles alley and a tombola to name just a few, will give visitors many opportunities to try their hand at winning a prize. There will also be plants for sale, locally made produce and home made cakes.

Visitors will be entertained during the afternoon by Tutbury Swing Band. Home made cakes and teas will be served on the lawns and there will also be a barbecue and a licensed bar available throughout the afternoon.

This event is the main fundraiser for both St Peter’s Church in the village and the Parish Rooms, Last year, the event was blessed with glorious sunshine. This year the organisers are hoping for a lovely sunny day again, but should it rain, the event will most definitely still go ahead under large marquees!

Entry is free and road signs will direct visitors to parking which will be available immediately outside the hall.
